Bishop Derwin Lee Norwood, Sr. was born to the late Elder Jimmie and Sister Charlene Norwood and was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost at the tender age of eight years old. He preached from the age of eight until he was ten years old. At the age of thirty-three, God reclaimed him and gave him a miraculous testimony of his saving power.  One year later God called him back to the ministry, in Denver, Colorado while faithfully serving under the leadership of his Pastor, the late Bishop Frank E. Johnson. 

At the age of thirty-five, after his father’s passing, he was ordained as an Elder and called to the Pastorate.  Bishop Norwood now serves as Pastor of West Side Church of God in Christ of Enid, Oklahoma. The West Side Church of God in Christ has continued to grow spiritually and obtain new levels of scriptural knowledge and leadership abilities.  God has blessed the church to build a facility in Oklahoma Northwest second to none, which includes an expanded sanctuary, classrooms, baptismal pool, offices, fellowship hall, and computer labs.

Bishop Norwood was appointed to the office of State Evangelist for Oklahoma Northwest Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction. He has ministered throughout the nation and the world, evangelizing the Word of God. Backsliders have been reclaimed, demons have been cast out and the sick have recovered under his anointed and consecrated revivals.
Bishop Norwood was the Superintendent of the Ponca City District which he served through God’s divine guidance.  Because of the dynamic anointed leadership ability that God has placed within him, the Ponca City District has grown to be one of the most spiritually prosperous districts in the Oklahoma Northwest Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction. 

Bishop Norwood was appointed Chairman of the Board of Superintendents for Oklahoma Northwest Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction.  He began incorporating anointed teaching and leadership during the Jurisdictional meetings while supporting the late Bishop Lee V. Broom’s vision for the Jurisdiction. 

God has shown Bishop Norwood the need to preach the uncompromising gospel of repentance throughout the nation so that souls will be saved and filled with the Holy Ghost; laying hands on the sick so they shall recover; and binding the devil and casting him out through fasting and prayer in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to whom all glory and honor is given. 

Bishop Norwood is married to Sister Debra Norwood and is the father of six children.
